Measure from the base of the palm to the elbow. Kids usually wear 8" to 11" gloves and junior players 11" to 12". If your child has outgrown junior sizes, look at our senior gloves.

The Knapper AK3 and AK5 Youth gloves are favourites, along with junior models from Dekadence, LDK and Warrior. They are lightweight and flexible so young players can handle the stick easily.

It is better to buy the correct size. Gloves that are too big make it harder to grip the stick and can slide down and expose the wrist. Choose a snug fit with a little room at the fingertips.

Yes, gloves are mandatory in all minor ball hockey leagues, along with junior shin guards and a helmet with a full cage. Many leagues also require a youth jock from Winnwell.

Move up when the cuff no longer reaches the elbow pad or the fingertips touch the end of the glove. Most players switch to senior gloves around 13 to 14 years old.

Take the gloves out of the bag after every game, open the cuffs and let them air dry. A deodorizer like Captodor helps eliminate odour.
